DAVID BOWIE: Earliest demo found in a bread basket
The earliest recording of David Bowie was recently found in a bread basket.
The demo tape features a 16-year-old Bowie singing "I Never Dreamed" with his first band, The Konrads. The tape was made in hopes of getting an audition with Decca, but the label turned the group down.
The Guardian reports that the tape was rediscovered by David Hadfield, who was the drummer and manager of The Konrads, in his garage while he was getting ready to move. Hadfield is selling the tape at an auction on September 11th and hopes it brings in around $13,000.
