New Bob Seger release is coming in September

BOB SEGER:  Release from Seger's early band The Last Heard is on the way

Before Bob Seger had the Silver Bullet Band and its predecessor, the System, he had The Last Heard.

10 songs from Bob Seger and the Last Heard have been packaged in the album Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings 1966-1967, which will be released in numerous formats, including vinyl, on September 7th. It will be the first time that all their records have been available since their release as 45s over 50 years ago.

The collection includes the title track, "Heavy Music," which was a hit in Detroit in 1967 and cracked the Billboard 200, charting at number-103.

YOKO ONO:  Revisiting 13 songs on an upcoming release

Yoko Ono's next album revisits 13 songs from her past.

Due October 19th on her son Sean's label Chimera Music, Warzone is Ono's response to the tension of present-day life. She says, "The world is so messed up. Things are very difficult for everybody. It’s a warzone that we are living in."

Now 85, Ono shows no signs of slowing down or pulling back from her lifelong social activism. In Warzone, she uses a minimalist landscape to issue sometimes somber warnings. She ends the ominous questions of "Now or Never" (first recorded in 1971) with one of her most famous and inspiring lines: "A dream you dream alone is only a dream, a dream we dream together is reality."

Though 12 of the 13 songs are her compositions, Warzone closes with her late husband John Lennon's signature solo work, "Imagine." (ImaginePeace.com)

ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA:  Vinyl box set on the way

Sony's upcoming ELO vinyl compilation box focuses on songs that established them in their home country.

Due September 21st, Electric Light Orchestra -- The U.K. Singles Volume One: 1972-1978 is a deluxe showcase of their early hits and B-sides.

Marketed as a collector's set, it packs 15 45s -- including "Roll Over Beethoven," "Evil Woman," "Livin' Thing," "Telephone Line" and "Mr. Blue Sky," all of which went Top 10 in Britain. Rounding it out is 1978's The ELO EP, a seven-incher with "Can't Get It Out of My Head" and "Strange Magic" backed with "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle" and "Evil Woman."

The concert documentary Jeff Lynne's ELO: Wembley or Bust will make its U.S. debut this Friday night on Showtime. It documents the 2017 performance of Jeff's current lineup at London's famed Wembley Stadium.
