The Doors classic "Hello, I Love You" turns 50 this week

THE DOORS:  "Hello, I Love You" turns 50 this week

Friday will marks the 50th anniversary of "Hello, I Love You" by The Doors topping the Billboard singles chart.

To mark the occasion, the band -- or what's left of it -- will release a single with mono mixes of the song and its original B-side, "Love Street." (The original single was one of the earliest 45s issued in stereo; the mono mixes were on promo discs sent to radio stations at the time.)

Two stereo mixes of those songs will be on the 50th Anniversary Edition of The Doors' third album, Waiting for the Sun, which comes out September 14th. You can hear one rare mix of "Hello, I Love You" at
