Last Friday, a postage stamp of John Lennon was introduced in Central Park, across from the Dakota, where he lived.
Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono were on hand for the ceremony. He said, “I know that my father would have been really thrilled to be accepted, officially in this way, on a stamp. About as official as it gets, I think.”
Yoko added, “Everybody loves to listen to John’s songs and I’m very proud of it, but also the fact that this day, Imagine and you guys are here. It’s incredible.”
The photo of Lennon on the stamp was taken by Bob Gruen in 1974
