Paul McCartney took to Twitter today (Monday), and the one piece of semi-interesting news is that he had another title for his new album, Egypt Station.
He says, "The track ‘Caesar Rock’ ends with [the lyric] 'she's got matching teeth', so it was nearly called Matching Teeth. I just thought that was hilarious! I'm not quite sure how that came about -- maybe I'd seen something I misread, which often happens!"
Egypt Station, which was released last Friday, is predicted to sell between 110- and 120,000 copies, according to industry publication Hits Daily Double. That could place it at number-one or -two on the Billboard album chart.
Paul has added three more dates to the 2019 leg of his Freshen Up tour:
- May 23rd - New Orleans, LA - Smoothie King Arena
- June 3rd - Fort Wayne, IN - War Memorial Coliseum
- June 26th - Phoenix, AZ - Talking Stick Resort Arena
Paul's recent appearance on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden won a Creative Arts Emmy Sunday in the short form variety series category.
And lastly, the long ago "Paul Is Dead" rumor is the inspiration for a new short comedy film, Paul Is Dead.
A description reads, "Hungover and at each other’s throats, John, George and Ringo must convince Billy Shears, a sheepish rural lookalike, to join their band after Paul dies during an experimental drug-filled musical retreat. Braving a perilous mountain hike to bury Paul at the summit, they each must face up to their own inner conflicts and calamitous personal shortcomings if they are going to make it through the journey and stop the band from falling apart."
The film will be released on October 1st.
