Elton John reportedly paid $6.5 mil for his role in commercial

Fresh off his appearance in a new Snickers commercial, Elton John recently shot an ad for U.K. department store John Lewis.

The chain’s annual Christmas spot has become a must-see, and this year, according to the Daily Mail, it will “feature Elton performing a new version of ‘Your Song,’ which will be used behind a storyline that follows him through the 71 years of his life.”

Shot just before he left England to start his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour last Saturday in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the spot is said to be a tearjerker as it “follows Elton from a child through his teenage years into how he is today. It is all very, very charming.”

And Elton is crying tears of joy -- he was reportedly paid $6.5 million for four days of shooting.

Elton's Farewell Yellow Brick Road  tour will play another show in Philadelphia today (Wednesday).
