We have lots more details on the release of the soundtrack to the Joan Jett documentary Bad Reputation.
Set for release on September 28th, it will feature the new Joan Jett and the Blackhearts track "Fresh Start." There are also live and studio performances by the band, as well several from her earlier outfit The Runaways, plus Bikini Kill, members of The Sex Pistols, and more.
The album includes "Androgynous," an unreleased track on which Joan is joined by Miley Cyrus and Laura Jane Grace. A digital version of the soundtrack will include a live version of “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” which was recorded when Joan performed with the living members of Nirvana during the band’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2014 induction ceremony at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, New York.
Bad Reputation, directed by Kevin Kerslake, opened at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. It will play one night only on September 26th in theaters across the country, before opening two nights later in New York and Los Angeles. The film will also launch on iTunes, Amazon and On Demand September 28th.
