Jimmy Buffett is being sued by a trucker who says she was injured unloading equipment for one of his shows. Mary Kay Puckett says she was hurt after hauling equipment for his 2016 “I Don’t Know Tour.”
In her suit, she says when the tour got to Las Vegas, a member of Buffett’s crew demanded she unload the equipment, even though she wasn’t trained for such work, and while doing so “four heavy black steel production rigging items,” which were not properly secured, fell on top of her.
She says she suffered injury and disfigurement in the accident, and is suing Buffett because he was negligent with regards to security precautions and training. She is seeking damages in excess of $75,000 for her physical pain and suffering, as well as emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life. In addition to the singer, his Margaritaville company, MGM Resorts and Live Nation Entertainment are all named in the suit.
