The '80s-based sitcom The Goldbergs tips its cap to Queen in next Wednesday's episode.
Series creator Adam F. Goldberg says, "'Bohemian Rap City' dives into how much the band inspired young musicians of my generation."
He recalls "desperately beg[ging] my parents to let me go see the tribute concert in London in 1992... That turned out to be [bassist] John Decan’s final performance with the band." He says not attending was "the biggest regret of my childhood."
Goldberg thanks Queen for being "incredibly generous" to allow the sitcom to "feature their masterpiece ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’...[and] even allowed us to write an absurd rap for [the character] Barry Goldberg to add into the song, as he mistakes the word 'Rhapsody' for 'Rap City.'"
