Duran Duran takes on immigration in new video

Duran Duran offer the U.S. an Election Day message with their latest video.

"The Edge of America" from the band's 1988 Big Thing album is now matched to footage tied to the immigration controversy. They believe it deals with "the impossibility of purity and the necessity of movement as important forces both in nature, as well as the human condition."

The visual message draws a connection between flying birds and photographs of immigrants on Ellis Island in the early 20th century. The many different faces illustrate America's ethnic diversity and and the impossibility of "[racial] purity" or even a unique racial identity. (Noise11.com)
