Micky Dolenz was happy to see that Michael Nesmith has made a strong recovery from recent heart surgery.
The Monkees members both attended the recent L.A. screening of their movie Head.
Micky Dolenz talked about being with Michael Nesmith in L.A. at the recent 50th anniversary screening of Head :
"I just saw hin the other day, we had a screening of the movie Head, celebrating the 50th anniversary. And he was in great shape... boy, I'll tell ya. You know, I like the movie, always have. It's very... weird [laugh], definitely abstract. As you know, it's become quite a little cult film over the years."
Dolenz says Head was never planned as a sequel or final episode of the Monkees sitcom:
"And that was a conscious decision that was made. When we first started talking about doing the movie, I can only speak for myself, but when it was suggested by Bob Rafelson and this new guy, this new kid we'd met named Jack Nicholson [that] we have a chance to do something that is not a 90-minute version of the television show. And I thought that was a great idea.
