The Rolling Stones have announced what they have been teasing for the past few weeks. Their No Filter tourwill hit stadiums between April 20th in Miami and June 21st in Chicago.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards made the announcement on iHeartRadio stations across the country, including BIG 95 KBGO on Monday afternoon.
Mick Jagger talked about The Rolling Stones 2019 No Filter U.S. tour:
"We've not been doing like long, long, long stints, you know. We've been doing more short ones. Last year we did a lot in the UK and a little bit in Europe with this similar stage set-up, though we have changed it for the United States -- we're changing some of the set-up. So, you know, we're keeping our hand in and not getting too rusty I hope. So, you know, we're really looking forward to this, and, you know, haven't been to quite a few of these places in a while."
Among the cities that have not had the Stones visit in more than 12 years are Glendale, Arizona (Phoenix) and Seattle (2006); Miami, Houston and Denver (2005); and Jacksonville, Florida, which they haven't played since 1989 on their Steel Wheels tour.
The tour will roll in to NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans) on April 28th.
Keith Richards also spoke about the tour:
"First off it's great to be playing back in America actually. I mean it's been a while and it's basically our stomping ground from, you know, the early '60s you know, so, I always feel like I'm coming home ... if there is one. As far as the tour, I tell you we finished off a few months ago in Europe and it just felt so good that when they said, 'Do you want to do the States next year?', 'Yeah' because I didn't want to get off. You know I mean I thought we were just getting going."
Tickets for all the shows -- which are in NFL stadiums except for the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California -- go on sale Friday, November 30th through Ticketmaster.
