Queen's Brian May says Malek will get an Oscar nod

Queen guitarist Brian May says he's sure Rami Malek will get an Academy Awards Best Actor nomination for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

He tells Classic Rock magazine that, “Without a doubt, he’ll be on the nominations list for an Oscar and well deserved as well. He inhabited Freddie to the point where we even started to think of him as Freddie. Really remarkable.”

May also thinks Gwilym Lee, who plays him, should get a Best Supporting Actor nod.

Meanwhile, after racking up $26-million last week, its third week in theaters, Bohemian Rhapsody is now just $9-million from passing Straight Outta Compton as the biggest music bio-pic ever at the box office.

As for its soundtrack, although it moved 10 percent fewer units last week than the week before, it moves up from number-seven to number-six on the Billboard 200 album chart this week.
