Joan Jett is suing a payroll software company over its TV commercial.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's Blackheart label charges Paycom with ripping off her classic "I Love Rock and Roll." The label claims it was approached over the summer about licensing the single for an ad campaign. Unable to reach a deal, Paycom instead used music Jett says is "virtually identical" to her signature song. The suit alleges that Paycom’s version "replicates the instrumentation -- snare drum, bass drum, hand claps, bass guitar and multiple over-driven electric guitars -- arrangement, and the total sound and feel."
