Nearly four-thousand patients who underwent procedures at a North Jersey surgery center are being told to get tested for HIV, as well as Hepatitis B and C.
The New Jersey Health Department issued the alert, citing deficiencies in infection control at HealthPlus Surgery Center in Saddle Brook. The warning covers the period from January to September 7th of 2018.
While health officials say the risk of infection is low, testing is being offered free of charge at specific locations. The center sent 3,778 patients a letter explaining the situation.
