Good thing this isn't legally binding

A pair of six-year-old twins from Thailand have been married in an expensive Buddhist ceremony. Why? Their parents say it’s because they think the sister and brother, Kiwi and Guitar, were together in a past life.

Apparently, it’s part of an ancient belief that male and female twins are actually past couples that have been reborn together due to some kind of 'karma' or unresolved debt.

“We must arrange a wedding for the two twins, as a solution to the issues they had before they were reborn,” says the twins’ father Amornsan Malirat. “If they are married, they will live healthy and successful lives and not be sick.”

The traditional ceremony doesn’t come cheap either. The six-year-old boy had to pay a dowry of over $1,200 in cash and gold before marrying his twin sister. Fortunately, the marriage isn’t legally binding… so when the time comes, they can go ahead and find their own husband or wife.
