A new documentary about Sly and the Family Stone is set to hit theaters next year. “Dance to The Streaming Music” will focus not only on the artist’s legacy, but also the fight over the recent Music Modernization Act and the impact it has had on Sly’s life and career.
Before the act was signed earlier this year, Sly was left destitute due to legal and financial problems, but the act has now secured him a steady line of income after fighting for streaming royalties for ten years.
The doc, directed by Brady Spensor, has been ten years in the making. It is currently wrapping production and is expected out sometime next year.
