Steven Tyler is doing his part for children in need. The Aerosmithfrontman’s charity initiative, Janie’s Fund, has donated more than half a million dollars in support of foster youth programs across the United States.
Janie’s Fund was launched in 2015 in partnership with Youth Villages, a non-profit organization “dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully.” Now the charity has announced a year-end donation of $532,000 to support their new pilot program, YVLifeSet, in Boston, Massachusetts; Nashville, Tennessee; New York City and North Carolina.
“YVLifeset is making an amazing impact on the lives of so many young people, and I’m thrilled to part of helping this program expand across the country,” says the rocker in a statement. “There are 10,000 girls who age-out annually and desperately need this level of care. It’s my hope that we can announce additional program expansions in the new year to help out even more girls.”
