ABBA fans have been waiting years for new music, and now it seems they’re going to have to wait even longer.
Back in 2016 it was announced that the Swedish group had recorded two new songs, “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down,” which were due out the end of last year. But back in September the band announced the songs would be delayed until this year, and now a report claims they won’t actually be out until September, at the earliest.
“No release before the summer,” a rep for the band tells “Variety.” “Hopefully this fall.”
As for why the songs were delayed, there’s been no official word, but ABBA’s Benny Andersson said in a recent interview the delays were due to legal issues. “We are still trying to establish the agreement that needs to be done to be able to continue,” he told IceTheSite. “We are good. It’s the other side, everything that has to be done, everything that has to be drawn. It’s delayed. It’s not our doing.”
