John Mellencamp's Indiana home was broken into Thursday morning

John Mellencamp ’s Bloomington, Indiana  home was broken into  on Thursday morning and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department caught the culprit red handed.

Robert Carter  was found in one of the buildings on the property. He told police that he was there to arrest Mellencamp for supporting a different government than Carter -- meaning not  President Trump .

He has been charged with burglary, residential entry and criminal trespass. And, if that's not bad enough, earlier this week he was arrested for carrying a handgun without a license.

Mellencamp, who splits his time between Indiana and New York City, was not home, as he is in South Bend, Indiana for the start of his  tour  there Thursday night.
