Time is running out...if you’ve got Payless gift cards, you may want to visit one of the stores today.
The discount shoe chain is closing up, and won't honor the cards after today. Payless is expected to begin closing its 25-hundred stores across the U.S. and Canada at the end of this month. The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February, and opted to shutter the stores, with the final closures scheduled for May.
While you’re at it, you may want to spend any giftcards you might have for The Gap, Victoria's Secret, Gymboree, and Charlotte Russe. Those stores are also closing this year.
Almost five thousand store closures by various retailers have been announced since the start of the year.
