Lionel Richie was honored Saturday for his musical contributions and charitable efforts at the annual Keep Memory Alive gala in Las Vegas.
Introduced by singer Shania Twain as "my buddy, my pal... a lifesaver and a really wonderful friend," Richie sang his classics "Hello" and "Dancing on the Ceiling." He told the crowd at the MGM Grand, "What you all are doing tonight is helping mankind and actually making a difference in the world. I'm so proud to be here tonight to share this award."
The evening concluded with Shania, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, Bernie Williams, Leona Lewis, Miguel, actors Anthony Mackie and Anthony Anderson and others joining him for "All Night Long."
The Keep Memory Alive foundation supports research into, and families living with, degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and ALS.
