Aretha Franklin: Discovery of handwritten wills could lead to court

Nine months after the death of theĀ Aretha Franklin, a new controversy has emerged.

Though it was first believed the Queen of Soul had never prepared a will, we're now learning she may have prepared as many as three of them. That likely means the courts may have to decide which is valid and how her estate is divided.

Two documents dated 2010 were recovered from a locked cabinet in her home; another, fromĀ 2014, was allegedly hidden under furniture cushions. All are said to be handwritten with words crossed out and writing in the margins.

A June 12th hearing will be the first step toward resolving this mess. (BBC)
