It looks like the publishing date for Debbie Harry's memoir has been moved up.
When she announced Face It in a February interview with Rolling Stone, she expected it to go on sale in 2020. But the book, the first ever from the face and voice of Blondie, will be available October 1st.
Harry says she "didn’t want to [write it], but I did," and that the book will be a mix of self-penned essays and interviews with journalist Sylvie Simmons. It will also feature unseen photos as well as art from fans.
Expect a wide range of stories. Debbie's overview: "Some funny, some scary, some warm, some chill to the bone... More of the anecdotal bits of the story of Blondie – like the time I met [actresses] Rita Hayworth and Penny Singleton backstage at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles… I have led a very full life and couldn’t possibly cover everything in just one volume."
Blondie will spend the summer touring North America with Elvis Costello. (Guardian)
