Elton John is in Italy this week as his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, with a stop in Verona last night and tonight (Thursday).
Elton says the tour is going better than he expected.
Elton John provides an update on the progress of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour: "It's amazing. This week we'll do our 90th show. It's been the biggest tour of my life. I mean we could probably tour for five years. It's been extraordinary the amount of people we played to. I'm having a great time because it's the most visual show I've ever done. It's not become boring yet. You know, nearly a hundred shows and we're a third of the way through it and I've got a long, long way to go. In the next three or four weeks we'll be sitting down and planning the end of the tour in 2021 and what we're gonna do and where it's gonna be. We don't know yet."
Elton is in Europe through July 7th in Lucca, Italy before bringing it back to America on September 4th in Salt Lake City.
Elton's bio-pic, Rocketman, made $7 million in its first five days in Britain -- but fell short of both the live-action Aladdin as well as the business Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody did a year ago. Rocketman opens here on Friday.
NOTE: BIG 95 KBGO and iHeartRadio will have a special "Countdown To Rocketman" hosted by Elton John himself later this evening starting at 5pm. Listen all over Central Texas on 95.7 or anywhere on our free iHeartRadio app.
