The star of the Temptations bio-musical Ain't Too Proud thinks he knows why the show has been such a hit on Broadway.
Jeremy Pope, who plays Eddie Kendricks, is up for two Tony Awards on Sunday -- and he sat down with Gayle King on Monday's CBS This Morning.

"On one end, you see the older couple, kind of singing along and reminiscing. And then, to my right, I see a young black boy who's looking up and finally seeing himself represented in a commercial, big Broadway hit."

"Uncle O, we call him. After rehearsal, he invited us to his hotel room. We sat there for five hours and he told stories. And just told us about what it is and what it ain't. He's here to pass on the torch and tell us how to be consistent and how to show up every night. And it feels like a responsibility that I leave Jeremy and I show up for Eddie. To some people out there, they're getting to see Eddie one more time."
Pope was also nominated for his role in the drama Choir Boy, which closed earlier this year. The Tony Awards air Sunday on CBS.
