The Doobie Brothers have 50th anniversary plans

The Doobie Brothers came together in 1970, and plans are under way for their 50th anniversary celebration next year.

Tom Johnston discussed some of The Doobies Brothers' plans for their 50th anniversary next year: "We're doing a book right now. We will have new music out. We are going Down Under again to play Australia, New Zealand and Japan. And, we're doing a residency in Vegas -- that's something we've never done before. And, that's pretty much all I know."

The Doobies are also busy this year.

Their Live From the Beacon Theatre collection, which can be seen this month on PBS, will be out in numerous configurations on June 28th. And they start their summer tour with Santana on June 20th in Irvine, California.
