It’s everyone’s nightmare for a navigation system to steer you wrong…literally.
Cars headed to Denver International Airport on Sunday had to deal with detours because of a crash on Pena Boulevard. Those unlucky enough to use Google Maps were diverted to a dirt road that had turned muddy. Many of the 100 vehicles got stuck.
What’s Google’s reaction? "While we always work to provide the best directions, issues can arise due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather. We encourage all drivers to follow local laws, stay attentive, and use their best judgment while driving." In other words…”sorry, not sorry.”
Maybe it's time to start keeping an actual map in the glove compartment again!
