Hootie and the Blowfish are hot this summer.
This year's Group Therapy Tour is producing the best ticket sales and box office revenue of the band's career.
The first 13 dates pulled in just under $11 million, according to Billboard Boxscore. Four of the shows produced more than $1 million in ticket revenue, including a Dallas, Texas show on June 15th. That's number-one -- placing them ahead of tours by James Taylor, Dead and Company and Paul McCartney.
To quote the late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, Hootie and the Blowfish are putting "fannies in the seats." Their tour is averaging 13,508 fans a show.
A deluxe 25th anniversary edition of the band's mega-platinum album Cracked Rear View -- the best-selling debut of all time -- was released at the end of May.
