What better way to launch a clothing line inspired by a legendary rock band from half a century ago than to have one of today's hottest new recording artists wear it on stage at one of the world's top music festivals?
The clothing line is "All Together Now" by designer Stella McCartney, who happens to be the daughter of one of the members of that legendary band of yore, The Beatles. An outfit from the new collection was worn recently at England's Glastonbury Festival by Billie Eilish, America's favorite 17-year-old music phenomenon.
The 68-pieces that make up "All Together Now" -- named for a song Stella's dad, Paul, sang for the soundtrack of the 1968 movie Yellow Submarine -- officially debuted Monday at StellaMcCartney.com and at the designer's retail outlets.
McCartney tells The Hollywood Reporterthat she was inspired by going to a screening of Yellow Submarine last summer and having her mind blown by what she saw on screen." She says she felt the film "was so modern, and it was for everyone." Although she claims that in the past she's tried to distance herself from her personal relationship with The Beatles," she believes that now "really felt like the time to come together [and] use that excellent wealth of extraordinary expression."
