Lionel Richie is in that rare circle of artists who can't play all their hits at a single show. Monday night at the Hollywood Bowl, the radio favorites "Still," "Oh No" and "Ballerina Girl" didn't make the cut.
That didn't mean Richie didn't surprise the crowd. He included a big chunk of The Ohio Players' "Fire" in his performance of "Brick House" -- which he called his favorite Commodores song. His band then borrowed the synthesizer part from Van Halen's "Jump" during "Dancing on the Ceiling."
It was quite a night -- literally: the show began with "Running With the Night" and ended with "All Night Long."
Lionel will be in Las Vegas for Friday and Saturday night shows at the Wynn Resort's Encore Theater. (Billboard)
