A Nevada mom is suing entertainer Wayne Newton over his pet monkey.
She claims the animal “viciously attacked and bit” her daughter during a visit to Newton's former mansion, Casa de Shenandoah. She wants 15-thousand dollars in damages, saying her daughter could require more treatment in the future.
It's unclear how old the girl was at the time or the extent of her injuries, and her lawyer said they weren’t sure if Newton or his family were present at the time she was bitten. He added that she had to have follow-up treatments, counseling and has a scar.
Casa de Shenandoah - the 52-acre estate of Newton and his wife Kathleen - was shut down last year, just three years after it opened as a tourist attraction. The Newtons haven’t lived there since 2013.
Newton is currently celebrating his 60th year performing in Las Vegas.
