One of the accusers in this year's controversial documentary on Michael Jackson says it's unfortunate that MTV will keep the Gloved One's name on one its Video Music Awards.
The lifetime achievement award was named the Michael JacksonVideo Vanguard Award in 1991, nearly 20 years before his death. Missy Elliot is the honor's 2019 recipient.
Wade Robson, whose revelations made Finding Neverland one of the year's most talked-about films, tells The Wrap, "As child abuse survivors all over the world watch to see whether society will support them or not if they have the courage to come forward, [MTV's decision is] an unfortunate choice."
The VMAs air live on MTV on Monday night.
