Adam Lambert of Queen has been named as one of the musicians and other celebrities who were robbed, allegedly by a criminal ring run by a real estate agent.
Los Angeles police claim that Jason Emil Yaselli would set up viewings of properties that were for sale, arranging for Benjamin Ackerman to sign in as a potential buyer so he could case the places and return later to break in. Ackerman allegedly stole from 14 properties and used the proceeds to pay down Yaselli’s credit card bill, with transfers ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. Both men face 32 counts of money laundering and 14 counts of burglary. Bail was set at $1.7 million for Yaselli and $1.2 million for Ackerman.
Lambert had put his Hollywood Hills home up for sale in 2017 at a price of $3.9 million. Variety reports that others targeted in the scheme include Usher, actor Dorit Kemsley and NFL player Shaun Phillips.
