David Byrne has launched an online "good news" magazine called Reasons to Be Cheerful.
The roots of this go back to 2017, when the former Talking Heads leader began emphasizing developments that make him optimistic about the future. He explained it in a statement as "positive stuff going on on. People [who] are solving problems and...making a difference!"
The journal's slogan is "Stories of solving." The first issue, posted Saturday at ReasonsToBeCheerful.World, divides stories into eight categories, including Culture, Education and Climate-slash-Energy.
Byrne wrote six of the articles. One on nuclear energy drew a rebuttal from his sometime musical collaborator and producer Brian Eno, whose piece is titled The Necessity of Nuclear.
