David Lee Roth says he has been rehearsing for his Las Vegas residency next January and March since October of last year.
Backed by a band he calls Horses of God, which has three guitarists, he says this will be a full-on rock show, with Van Halen's "Panama" kicking off the set.
David says,"What we're bringing here is not 'California Girls', 'Just a Gigolo.' I'm bringing Van Halen the way you have not heard it before. I started with the way the record sounds and there you have to bring everything doubled up. Everybody's in Vegas now. That is the capital of show business. Rise and shine. Smell the prosperity and I'll see you all in Vegas."
David Lee Roth: Rocks Vegas will take over the House of Blues for three shows starting January 8th, 10th and 11th, followed by six more in March -- the 18th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 27th and 28th.
Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com.
Roth was one of the first rock acts to do a Vegas residency before it became the norm for the likes of ZZ Top, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Santana, Def Leppard, KISS, Journey and John Fogerty. He did two of them in 1995, but they didn't go over particularly well.
