Queen have given their approval to a Japanese theatrical adaptation of their classic album A Night at the Opera.
But don't expect the typical Broadway treatment or a show resembling last year's Freddie Mercury bio-pic.
Q: A Night at the Kabuki will debut October 8th in Tokyo, and will then move on to Osaka and Kitakyushu. Itdraws from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and includes all the songs from the album that gave us "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "You're My Best Friend."
Brian May is impressed with the production. He praises director Hideki Noda and adds, "How wonderful to be a part of Japanese culture after all these years with what promises to be a new chapter in theater history." (Geigeki.jp)
