Lou Gramm cancels appearances due to health issues

Original Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm has had to cancel his appearances on his old band's Double Vision: Then and Now Tour due to health issues.

Gramm was hospitalized last week at Unity Hospital at Park Ridge in Rochester, New York with a severe respiratory infection, dehydration and fatigue. He hoped to be able to make the Foreigner dates, but was told at his follow-up visit that it won't be possible. He writes that he's "very disappointed" to miss the tour, but that his doctor insists that if he pushed himself to perform he "would be in big trouble. So doctor's orders, I ride the bench. Rock on!"

Original Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones added: "We will all miss Lou at our upcoming shows and we join all his family, friends, and fans in wishing him a speedy recovery."

Foreigner has four Double Vision shows -- featuring both its current and original members -- booked this month, starting Thursday in Uncasville, Connecticut. The band's next scheduled dates are in January.

Gramm is also expected to miss some shows he has scheduled with Asia. (Blabbermouth)
