Chicago is planning more two-fer shows for the summer of 2020.
After they paired up with The Doobie Brothers and Earth Wind and Fire in recent years, it looks like their next tour partner will be Rick Springfield.
Founding member Lee Loughnane tells us manager Peter Schivarelli is putting together the band's itinerary. While contracts aren't yet signed, the "Jessie's Girl" singer-actor is the leading candidate.
Lee Loughnane talked about Chicago's tentative 2020 plans with Rick Springfield:
"Peter is definitely working on it, I'm not sure who we're going to be working with. The last I heard was Rick Springfield, so... I believe that's what's going to happen. Most of the year, I think, we'll be on our own. We'll do like 40 shows or so with Rick.
Chicago is winding up its 2019 schedule this month. They'll play Champaign, Illinois' Virginia Theater tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
