Mariah Carey versus Whitney Houston was one of the great diva feuds of all time, but here's the thing -- the ladies never had any problem with each other.
Mariah looked back on those days during an interview with Variety, saying that any "beef" between the two was cooked up by outside forces. She tells the mag, "When I started, everyone was like, 'Oh, her and Whitney, let’s put them against each other and blah, blah, blah. We didn’t know each other! And she was one of the greatest of ALL TIME.”
It took a decade for them to dispel those rumors with their Oscar-winning collaboration "When You Believe." “We had the best time working together. We were like, ‘She doesn’t hate me... We’re actually having this great time together and laughing and this is more fun than I have working alone, ever’ So I think camaraderie with women that you respect is a huge deal.”
