Whitney Houston recalled by one of her famous composers

Albert Hammond remembers Whitney Houston as "an incredible artist and performer with an unbeatable voice who knew how to bring out the best of a good song."

The singer-songwriter who co-wrote Houston's "One Moment in Time" as well as "It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Ain't Never Gonna Be" (which Houston did with Aretha Franklin) tells us he's "happy" that she has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But he sees it with some regret. "Honestly, they should have inducted her when she was alive. There are so many of us that are overlooked -- but I guess the reason we chose to follow our musical journey [is] not to win awards but because we can make millions of people happy."

Best known for his '70s smash "It Never Rains in Southern California," Hammond also co-wrote Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," Leo Sayer's "When I Need You" and The Hollies' "The Air That I Breathe."
