Bruce Springsteen surprise the audiences by introducing his Western Stars movie at a pair of screenings at a theater in his native Freehold, New Jersey.
Springsteen told the crowd, “We knew we weren’t going to tour, so I tried to figure out a way to get the music to you. Accompanied by the film’s co-director Thom Zimny, The Boss spoke about the locations where Western Stars were filmed. He asked movie-goers to hold their applause "for the end of the film,” because, he said, "The editing and the pacing of the film has its own message.”
Western Stars opens nationwide on Friday. Springsteen will talk about it on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight (Monday). (Asbury Park Press)
