Joe Walsh is keeping his promise to help veterans with his third annual VetsAid concert on Sunday night in Houston at the Toyota Center.
Joining him this year are ZZ Top, The Doobie Brothers, Brad Paisley, Jason Isbell and Sheryl Crow.
Joe Walsh talked about the goal of his VetsAid organization:"What I found in my experience is the bigger organizations, the national ones, use a lot of their money for administration -- to run the office, maybe lobby in Washington, D.C. and stuff and that's fine. But, my organization is going to look on a more local level and find areas where vets are running organizations to help vets and we're gonna keep those people going because they're in the trenches and they're doing the real work."
Walsh, whose dad was killed while serving in the military, is already in Houston. Yesterday he visited a jobs fair for vets.
In its first two years, VetsAid has disbursed nearly $1.2 million in grants to service organizations.
