Bruce Springsteen made an unexpected appearance at the Light of Day benefit Saturday in Asbury Park, New Jersey to fight Parkinson’s Disease.
It was his first performance at the event. Springsteen's first appearance was during Jesse Malin's set, singing and playing guitar on “Broken Radio” and “Meet Me at the End of the World." He then joined Willie Nile for his song "One Guitar."
Springsteen later teamed up with Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers for a 10-song set that mixed some of Grushecky's originals with Springsteen classics “The Promised Land,” “Atlantic City” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town.” The night ended with most of the day's performers joining in on "Light of Day," followed by Springsteen on acoustic guitar joined only by Grushecky’s keyboardist to do "Thunder Road."
