Foreigner's Mick Jones and his wife passing time in their new apartment

As we all continue to deal with the ongoing coronavirus crisis, Foreigner founder and guitarist Mick Jones says he and his wife just moved into a renovated apartment.

He says, "I've had some difficulty getting my bearings. I walk into a room and it's not the old room I thought it would be. But so far so good. I'm an avid reader. Depending on the length of time, there are a couple of books about Sir Winston Churchill I'd like to delve into. He’s a real leader of men.”

Any long overdue projects you're finally going to tackle?

MJ: "We're looking at some older stuff that was started way back, perhaps 20-30 years ago, and listening to see if there is anything that could be used or re-written. You know, there are several pretty cool riffs floating around -- those we could bring on instead of letting them rot in a warehouse."

Is this pandemic making you think twice about how you will live your life after we're given the all-clear?

MJ: "Yes! I think it's going to change the scheme of things internationally. It's going to change all behavior. I think it'll change the way people value things, and I hope it'll straighten things out a bit and address the important issues such as childhood starvation, homelessness, racism, and respect for the Earth that we call home."

Do you agree with the decision to postpone concerts, sporting events, etc.? Would you have done anything differently -- if so, what?

MJ: "Obviously, if there is still a danger at that time, any degree of danger, people will be harmed by attending a concert. The health and welfare of the public and artists must come first. I really hope that we can get back on the road and that things will clear up. I'm also realistic, and it's very clear that we could be putting people's lives in danger if we didn't postpone until this blows over. But believe me, we’re ready to get back out there once we are given the all clear."

Any words of advice to your fans during this difficult time?

MJ: "Hunker down. If you stay at home, try and make use of the time. I don't mean go and start making model airplanes (ha ha), but try some new things. It's a good time for reflection. It's also a good time to build up your confidence and concentrate on your life. Look at this event and how it will change the world for decades to come."

Foreigner's U.K. tour in May and June has been canceled. Their U.S. dates with Kansas and Europe are still scheduled for July through September.
