Chicago, Roberta Flack and Isaac Hayes are among the artists being honored on Great Performances: Grammy Salute to Music Legends.
The special will air on October 16th on PBS.It will hosted by producer Jimmy Jam. The special will feature new performances of classic songs from the honorees, along with those who have received Special Merit Awards, including the songs:
- "If You Leave Me Now" (Chicago) - Performed by Philip Bailey
- "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (Flack) - performed by Cynthia Erivo
- "Where Is The Love" (Flack with Donny Hathaway) - performed by Cynthia Erivo and Leslie Odom Junior
- A medley of "Soul Man" / "I Thank You" / "You Don't Know Like I Know" / "Hold On, I'm Comin'" / "You Got Me Hummin'" / "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" (Hayes) - performed by Sam Moore
Iggy Pop, John Prine, Public Enemy and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Ken Ehrlich, Philip Glass and Frank Walker who havereceived Trustees Awards will be honored.George Augspurger was recognized with the Technical Grammy Award. Mickey Smith Junior will also accept the Music Educator Award™ as part of the event.
