Robbie Krieger talks about Doors' 'Motel Morrison' 50th anniversary release

Robby Krieger is thrilled about the upcoming expanded reissue of The Doors' legendary Morrison Hotel album.

The release is to commemorate the album's 50th anniversary. It includes the two CD plus one LP set plus 19 bonus tracks—which include alternate versions of "Roadhouse Blues," Peace Frog" and "Queen of the Highway" along with a studio jam on the Motown classic "Money (That's What I Want)."

Krieger talked about a couple of the album's guest stars:

"Yeah, if you're a Doors fan, you're going to like this one. John Sebastian actually player harmonica and Lonnie Mack played bass. John just happened to be in town that week. He was friend of producer Paul Rothchild, so he came by and... I didn't even know that was such a good harmonica player until he sat in with us, and that's pretty cool."

He also took a moment to remember the loss of one of his guitar heroes, fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Eddie Van Halen:

"Yeah, man. He was one of my favorites... one of my favorites. In fact, I've been... lately, I've been trying to steal some of his style. I've been doing the tapping thing on the guitar. I really, really gonna miss him."
