The pandemic has kept Olivia Newton-John and ELO from celebrating the 40th anniversary of the movie Xanadu.
Olivia still had the pleasure to meet with her co-star Gene Kelly's widow.
Last winter, Olivia was in Australia with her daughter Chloe, who competed on the Down Under-edition of Dancing With the Stars. Olivia was very surprised and delighted when Gene's widow Patricia -- then touring Australia with a retro show honoring her late husband -- came by the studio during a taping. The women reminisced about the movie Xanadu, Gene's final movie, which came out in 1980.
Olivia was thrilled to have the chance to dance with a star from the Golden Age of Hollywood in the movie. She talked about meeting Gene’s widow Patricia:
"I was in Australia early this year. My daughter was in Dancing With the Stars. She did an amazing job and Gene Kelly's widow came to the filming of one of my daughter's dance numbers. And it was so lovely to get together with her. She's doing a retrospective about Gene and his life. That's was one of the most special times I had, was dancing with him, dancing with John Travolta. I kind of did my own Dancing With the Stars."
