The Sister Sledge smash “We Are Family” is about to benefit a new "family."
Kim Sledge and the social activist group The World We Want are set release a new version of "We Are Family," with part of the proceeds going to the WHO Foundation, a branch of the World Health Organization.
The single will be released online November 9th which will coincide with the opening of the World Health Assembly, at which Sledge will perform the song with an international group of choral singers.
A video will be released on December 7th, starring celebrities, frontline health workers, leaders and members of the public singing together in a show of solidarity for global public health needs, including COVID-19.
Kathy Sledge says the "'We Are Family' initiative will salute each and every one with a feeling of unity, strength and solidarity in response to the unprecedented challenges the world faces as a result of the coronavirus outbreak." (Variety)
