Over the summer Neal Schon said fans would hear new Journey music this year, but that's no longer the case.He spoke about it on Sirius-XM.
Speaking to Sirius-XM, Schon says, "We have new management now that has come into play, and they've been amazing to work with ... and they have quite a team put together ... they get it...
"They wanted to push [releasing new music] back a bit, and it makes sense. So we're gonna release a single, another single, a few months after that another single, and then hopefully by then, near the end of '21, we'll be back on tour when everything gets up and running again."
He was asked about the recording process with new members Randy Jackson on bass and Narada Michael Walden on drums, Schon says, "I think the band is on fire. It's been really pretty much either [keyboardist] Jonathan [Cain] working in his studio, sending us a track, and then we're overdubbing on it, or it's Narada and I playing live together, which is working quite well — just drums and guitar. And then we send it to Randy and to Jon, and then have [singer] Arnel [Pineda] on it. So, it's coming together. For being a virtual record, it sounds amazing."
Journey's last album was Eclipse released back in 2011.
